Construct Name: Anger
Definition of Construct: State anger is defined as an emotional state marked by subjective feelings that vary in intensity from mild annoyance or irritation to intense fury. State anger is generally accompanied by muscular tention and arousal of the autonomic nervous system.
Trait anger is defined as the disposition to perceive a wide range of situations as annoying or frustrating, and the tendency to respond to such situations with more frequent elevations in state anger. Anger expression has 3 main components: anger-out, anger-in, and anger control (Spielberger 1988).
